Oasis Bible Helps - Vision

Oasis Bible Helps - Mission Statement

We are a small ministry with a big vision. Our vision is to reach out to the marginalized of Society: the forgotten, the undesirable, the drug addict, the prisoner, the prostitute, the modern day 'leper'. It was amongst such people that you would have found Jesus and if it is good enough for Him then it is good enough for us.

"While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew's house, many tax collectors and 'sinners' came and ate with Him and His disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they asked His disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and 'sinners' ?" On hearing this, Jesus said, " It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice'. For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners". Matthew 9: 10-13

Having discovered for ourselves that God is a 'God of second chances', we aim to help as many people as possible to discover this glorious truth for themselves and break free from the shackles of past mistakes and start afresh because Jesus has already paid their fine and settled their account in full by His death upon the cross. Fine paid, debt cancelled... second chance. "When a woman who had lived a sinful life in that town learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee's house, she brought an alabaster jar of perfume, and as she stood behind Him at His feet weeping, she began to wet His feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them…"Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven – for she loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little." " Luke 7: 37-38, 47

We aim to send out Oasis Bible Helps across the globe via the Internet where they can be utilized free of charge and copyright. Already they are going out to Prison Ministries in many countries but we are determined to reach as many people as possible with the Gospel because…

"I tell you, now is the time of God's favour, now is the day of salvation." 2 Corinthians 6:2b... and the harvest is out there. "Do you not say, ' Four months more and then the harvest?' I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest. Even now the reaper draws his wages, even now he harvests the crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together." John 4:35-36 "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field". Luke 10:2

If God is stirring you to throw out a 'handful of seed' along side us, then we would be eternally grateful to receive your donation (cheques made payable to 'Oasis Bible Helps'). 100% is ploughed back into OBH as we do not have any overheads or personal expenses. Come and join us and store up 'treasure in Heaven'. Finally and most important of all…may we ask you to pray for this outreach and join your intercession with ours. "Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him." Psalm 126:5-6

BELIEFS
We believe the Bible, as originally given, to be without error, the fully inspired and infallible Word of God and the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
THE TRINITY  We believe that the Godhead exists co-equally and co-eternally in three persons Father, Son and Holy Spirit and that these three are one God, sovereign in creation, providence and redemption.
THE SAVIOUR
We believe in the true and proper deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His real and complete humanity, in His sinless life, in His authoritative teaching, in His substitutionary and atoning sacrifice through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His heavenly intercession and in His second advent to receive His Church.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the deity of the Holy Spirit who proceeds from the Father and the Son and the necessity of His work in conviction of sin, repentance, regeneration and sanctification, and that the believer is also promised an endowment of power as the gift of Christ through the baptism in the Holy Spirit with signs following. Through this endowment the believer is empowered for fuller participation in the ministry of the Church, its worship, evangelism and service.
MANKIND We believe in the universal sinfulness of all men since the Fall, rendering man subject to God's wrath and condemnation.
SALVATION
We believe in the necessity for salvation and repentance towards God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ by which the sinner is pardoned and accepted as righteous in God's sight. This justification is imputed by the grace of God because of the atoning work of Christ and is received by faith alone.
